I am really pleased with this jacket for my Kindle. It's lightweight but durable and it is very nice-looking. I don't think I would even have noticed that the leather is synthetic unless I had known before buying it. The color is lighter than shown in the picture but is a really pretty shade and I prefer it to the navy that is featured on the site. The only thing that I think could be a little better is that when the jacket is open, the hinge is pretty loose between the two covers so the front one waggles around a little. However, that's a tiny detail and overall this is a great product!

I love my new kindle cover. It has the new hinge system and pockets on the inside and a clasp to keep it closed. I also like the pocket for the optional light.
Can't wait to go on vacation and just carry this instead of a suitcase of books.

I recently ordered and received the M-Edge Prodigy Jacket for my Kindle but had to return it. The inside lining of the jacket, described by M-Edge as microfiber, had a strong chemical odor, and the fumes gave me a mild asthma attack. I have clothing that's microfiber but haven't had any problems before this with that fabric type. I've occasionally run into this problem before - it appears to be a chemical used in processing some types of materials manufactured in Asia.
I don't know how common this reaction is, so just consider this a word of caution if you're considering this product and you have any respiratory issues.

I recently purchased this item (M-edge Prodigy Hinge Jacket for Kindle 2 Synthetic Leather in Royal Blue). It arrived 2.5 weeks before the estimated date!
Color: Absolutely a beautiful royal blue. A little bit lighter than what appear in the pictures. The stitching is white and very neat.
Appearance: The cover is very smooth and the inside is very soft, which is good for Kindle's screen. The synthetic leather is good quality. There is a slot for the light, a couple of slots on the left panel (presumably for business cards) and a larger slot above them. There are no obstructions where the cover touches Kindle's screen.
Fit: The fit for the kindle is very snug. The hinge mechanism works wonderfully and the kindle is easy to put in and remove. It would even stay in place with just the hinge, but the straps on the right add in extra security. Although there is that space on the left (where the light can be installed--the white thing in the picture), it is very unobtrusive. In fact, to me it just seems like a binding on a big, old-fashioned book or journal. The strap sliding in for the "lock" is also very snug, which is good because it makes the kindle more secure for travel.
Reading: Although the cover adds some weight, it makes the whole contraption (cover+kindle) feel a lot more secure in my hand. It can either be held with two hands like a normal book, or the cover is flexible enough to be bent around back to hold with one hand. It is still easy to reach the buttons even if reading with just one hand.
I highly recommend this item and this color.

The "M-edge Prodigy Jacket" is a well made and good looking protective cover for the Kindle 2. Here are my observations:
Pros:
* The synthetic Leather is good looking and not "Pleatherish" at all (note: mine is the "Black" model)
* The restraining strap on the cover works well
* Installing the Kindle 2 is quick and easy (see "Comments" for a link to the instructions on the M-Edge web page)
* Removing the Kindle 2 is also quick and easy
* Cover front folds back for one hand use (but see "Cons", below)
* Inside cover has pockets for business cards, etc
* All connectors and buttons are accessible
Cons:
* There is a lot of space between the Kindle 2 and the spine of the cover. I suspect this is to accommodate the M-Edge e-Luminator book light, shown in the picture, but NOT included. This extra space makes it a little harder for one hand use for those with small hands (not a problem for me).
Overall, this is good investment to protect your Kindle 2.
