"Very nice, but not perfect" 2009-07-07

I admit that I'm picky about things like this. First, let me say that this case is made very well: the leather is beautiful, the soft interior is very nice, the Kindle fits perfectly, and I love the color. However, I ended up returning it because of a couple of things that just bugged me too much. First, I don't like bulky--the extra space that the case allows for the light added too much bulk for my taste. I love how light and thin the Kindle is, and the heft of this case detracted from that. Second, the strap is nowhere near well thought out. It is simply a leather strap that you have to push into the small pocket on the front. It's not the quickest or easiest thing to do. Also, when you pull the strap out (in order to open the case and read) it is very much in the way for reading purposes. I couldn't cope with those things...they detracted too much from my Kindle enjoyment.

This case perfectly fits a first generation Kindle and the color is true to the picture. Credit Cards and such will fit in pockets on the inside cover and a book light will fit as well.

I'm hard on books but this cover has held up and I've almost had it a year! The Kindle power switch is awkward to reach when it is inside the case but this is a minor annoyance. The Kindle can charge while it is in the case so I never remove it.

All around a great buy to protect my Kindle!

I love this cover. I wanted a something a little more spiffy then the cover Amazon sells for the Kindle 2 so I went with this. As another reviewer mentioned it is a bit stiff at first but does become more flexible with use. The front bends back nicely so you don't have the front cover to mess around with and doesn't interfere with the reading experience. The inside is nice and soft. The mounting system isn't as sophisticated as the Amazon cover but it holds the Kindle 2 in very securely and hasn't slipped out once. The clasp to close the cover can be a little clumsy at times sliding it. This design could be improved upon. The charging port is accessible when the cover it closed and it has a built in pocket for the M-Edge light. Although that still isn't available for purchase, it's a nice feature though. The inside of the front cover has pockets for a memory card and other odds and ends but I haven't used any of the pockets yet, or the pen/pencil holder built into the inside crease. All in all, it's a stylish protective cover and am extremely happy with my purchase!

This cover helps protect your Kindle better than the one it comes with. The only thing I would change about it is I wish it had a magnetic strap instead of one that slides into the cover. That gets a little tedious.

It is GREEN. The black cover that came w/ my kindle was not comfy & kindle would fall out. This one holds kindle tight & folds back (w/o causing a permanent crease) giving you a corner to hold on to. I like being able to stuff a little notepad in the pouches, as I am always seeing books I want so I have to record the title/author. I don't know why they have tiny little pockets sewn in, they aren't usable. I leave the top right corner unsecured so I can power it off/on- still there is no way kindle is falling out. Great investment to personalize your kindle.

I was really ticked off after I bought my Kindle as a result of the Oprah push and weeks later the K2 was released. So I am happy to find that there are at least a few accessories left for the KI that are fun and useful. Half the fun of a new electronic toy are new leather accessories. This is a pretty red, with a good fold back, and it smells good too!

I'm very pleased with the M-edge for the Kindle 1. The corners were a bit stiff when I first got it, but continued use has made them more pliable, but not pliable enough for the Kindle to fall out of them!

The pockets are a great accessory to the M-edge. You can put in a small note pad, extra SD cards and there is a slot for a pen. The suede has enough give that I was able to thread a darning needle (for those darn freezes and resets) in the material.

I find the jacket makes reading the Kindle easier. Less stress on the hands and wrist. I would highly recommend this particular accessory for your Kindle.

I bought this jacket for my Kindle 2 when I bought the Kindle. I love my Kindle, but when you put it in the jacket, there are two metal pieces that slide into spaces in the side of the Kindle. These pieces fit rather tightly and when the other side of the Kindle came out of the elastic pieces, one of the metal pieces caused the plastic face plate to crack and ultimately caused the faceplate above the space to break off into little pieces. The Kindle was NOT mishandled, but warranty doesn't cover it so, I have to keep using it broken, hoping that it doesn't cause the readability to fail. I now prefer the jacket that you can slide the Kindle into. I wish they would make it in leather.

"Quality Cover---Good Replacement for the Original" 2009-05-05

I was somewhat hesitant about purchasing this cover after reading some of the negative reviews, but did it anyway. My Kindle goes with me everywhere there may be any waiting time, and I can't count the number of times I'd thought I'd lost it because of the generic black cover matching everything else, even to the lining of my handbag.

Yes, it is a little difficult to place the Kindle into all 4 corners but one is elasticized and even with my arthritic hands, it only took me a couple of minutes and it's much more secure than in the original case. Due to the placement of the page bars, I'd accidentally change the current location when closing the original case because of being afraid it was going to fall out.

My case is of excellent quality, and has no odor other than maybe a pair of new shoes, and that's only if I place my nose right against the leather.

I love being able to have a pen available, as well as having 4 slots for paper or cards, and think it could appropriately be used as a clutch handbag at times, especially to a doctor's office, just carrying a driver's license, credit card, and notes for the visit.

"TOO BULKY & CLASP DOESN'T HOLD" 2009-04-04

I bought this thinking that the RED color would aid me in finding it in my purse and keep me from leaving it somewhere (ie: at restaurants the K1 black cover looks just like the padded thing they bring the check in). The quality is nice. I got the faux leather but it looks like real leather. The baseball stitching is nice too. The only two problems I have with it are as follows:

1.) The thing is too wide. I don't want a Kindle 2 precisely because the K1 is SMALLER and I like it that way. But this thing easily adds an inch or more to the width.

2.) The CLASP doesn't hold when you fold the cover back and insert the tab. Luckily I read at night with the MIGHTY LIGHT and it clasps the covers together pretty well.

Overall, if size isn't an issue (and we all know it is :)) and the feeling that the thing is unstable when held (the K1 cover at least had the elastic to hold it in place), then get it. I just don't see a use for a pen holder (which makes it wider) and all the pockets. I wouldn't want to scratch the reading surface by putting anything in the pockets so they are useless to me. Save your money and keep the K1 cover. It holds just as well because the elastic can fold around the right hand bottom corner and do just as well as this. It's pretty though but at least get the faux since it looks great.
