I like the padding in this case. I feel confident that when I place in in my purse it will protect the Kindle from being knocked around and damaged. It is lightweight and does not add much bulk while it is being protective.
It would be nice to be able to open it and have a clear view of the Kindle. The Kindle slips into a pocket on the inside and it has to be removed to be read so it is no longer protected.

The elastic on the corners becomes loose over time and I was concerned about having the Kindle fall out. This was solved with a strip of Velcro on the back of the Kindle and on the case. I can now open it with confidence.

This cover is not worth the cost and the zipper is horrible. Patagonia should be embrassed to put their name on this product. The features sounded great, I ordered it and promptly sent it back. Zipper works very poorly, have to strongly hold the case (squeezing your Kindle) to get the zipper closed. Feared the Kindle would pop out when opening or closing the case. The handle straps are odd as everyone mentioned, these would probably just get caught on stuff in your purse, backpack or briefcase. I was VERY disappointed. I ordered the Belkin case instead and I'm happy with that, well padded, fits in my purse. Would have like something that folded back so I could keep the Kindle in a case when reading, but first priority for me is something small in size and well padded. and a zipper that works!

This is case is great...light weight,padded...I used for travel...in a backpack and it held my book light, charger without bulk or damage. I do not feel that the kindle slips out easily like some of the reviewers . I have also used the case to prop my kindle to read and this works too! If you are looking for a durable, protective case for your kindle this one is for you!

I needed a cover that completely zipped around my Kindle and the Patagoina Book Case is perfect. I use my Kindle in many different locations and am very glad I decided to go with this case. It keeps out dust, dirt, bugs, grass, sand, etc., and isn't too large. It fits fine in my bag when I am traveling and I love the extra protection for travel and at home.
