I'll cut right to the chase:
PROS:
Very nice materials, good feel, sturdy, it feels like it will wear very well and protect the Kindle fairly well.
CONS:
Very difficult to attach. The fourth corner is a doozy to get tucked in, even with the extra elastic. C'mon, there's got to be a better way to tighten it after the corners are in.
Another BIG con is that the Kindle 1 simple doesn't fit. At least 1/2" sticks over the top of the case. I don't get it. A case has exactly ONE job: to protect what's in the case. It can't completely protect the device if a good 1/2" sticks out the top.
Sorry, I really wanted to like this thing, and now I'm just pissed off about it. But I'll keep it, because it's better than the hassle of returning it.
I am completely surprised hardly any of the other reviews here mention this basic shortcoming.

Well, the good about this product is that the leather feels nice, and the inside suede is a nice surface to protect the Kindle. But, there are a several things about it that could be much better: the case is wider than it needs to be by an inch and the leather at the hinge gets quickly wrinkled from folding it back to read; it is very difficult to get it into and out of the case - the clips at the hinge are awkward; the closure strap lies in front of the Kindle as you read so you have to hold it out of the way or tuck it behind the Kindle somehow; the little corner elastic straps easily slide off of the Kindle.
I have the Saddle Brown color - which is quite dull and pale. Not a rich, warm color like it looks in the photo.
I agree a case is a necessity for this awesome gadget. But, this one could be better.

This leather jacket looks sharp. The leather is quite nice. I bought it as a gift and my friend's Kindle has never looked better.

I LOVE THIS NEW COVER FOR THE KINDLE! I DON'T CONSIDER IT A LUXURY BUT A NECESSITY. I WAS ONE OF THOSE PEOPLE THAT COULD NEVER GET THE KINDLE TO STAY IN THE ORIGINAL CASE. IT WOULD SLIP OUT WHILE TRANSPORTING IN MY HANDBAG, AND ESPECIALLY WHILE TRYING TO READ AT NIGHT IN BED. ALL PROBLEMS SOLVED NOW WITH THE NEW COVER,AND IT DOES LOOK GREAT.

Nice look but it has one major problem. When I insert my Kindle 2 the top edge protrudes above the edge of the jacket cover. Not only does this look odd but it doesn't fully protect the unit. I'm returning it.
