The Kindle cover has served it's purpose, yet I didn't realize that there was a Kindle I and Kindle II, and accidently purchased the Kindle I cover, instead of the Kindle II, which I needed it.
The top of the Kindle II sticks out of the cover, so that is frustrating, but all in all, I've managed to make it work. Wish it wouldn't have been soo confusing when purchasing it, since I didn't even know that there had initially been a Kindle I, since my wife bought this for me.
Buyers do your research and don't get the wrong cover when purchasing.

I wanted something nicer than the original cover, but I didn't find this cover any better. There were also a few things that made it worse. The retention clip on the top right corner depresses the 'next page' switch and makes it impossible to turn the thing on/off. It also seems oversized, with the spine being very large. Even if you remove the top right clip, it's still too hard to hit the power switch. I don't think the leather version is any better, so I'm just glad I only wasted a few bucks.

This is a beautiful cover and it is such a great improvement over the original cover for Kindle 1. I can read without fear of my Kindle falling to the floor. The cover is pleasant to hold with a nice feel to the cover. The royal blue is striking which helps me locate it quickly.
