Love this leather cover for my kindle but the leather smells awful after a few months.

I purchased the cover at the same time I purchased the Kindle2. I paid for overnight shipping and both items arrived on-time in the same box.
Pros: The cover is attractive.
I didn't notice any odor as described in other reviews.
The cover does a good job protecting the Kindle.
My Kindle fit perfectly.
Cons: The construction is only okay. The inside leather is thin.
I have doubts that the leather slide latch will last in the long run.
ALL Kindle covers are WAY WAY WAY overpriced. This item is really only worth about 15-20 bucks.
That said, I think it is the best cover in an overpriced market.

I have this cover, in butternut colored leather, for my Kindle2. So many of the other covers seem to have a book-like side opening. This flip-top version is FABULOUS since it lets you create a stand (triangle) for reading. I use this when reading in bed and resting it on my tummy.
It also has a nice 3/4" or so margin of leather beyond the left edge of the Kindle2 itself. This lets me rest my thumb there when holding the Kindle, and is more comfortable than holding the thicker width of Kindle+cover. There's a weird little tab at the top, as if for sliding a pen or pencil through to hold it. But why would you have either with your Kindle? Maybe it works with one of the light attachment. =shrug=
I have had no trouble using it. It holds the Kindle2 securely. I can plug in the recharger without opening the cover. It's soft, comfortable to hold.
At any rate, I highly recommend this cover.

As a road warrior, I use my Kindle often in restaurants. A nice easel stand would take little space and give a great angle for reading - but this device is not it. The tongue is too short - barely gets to slot. The jacket slides, falls. If you do get it stabilized, the Kindle is at a pure almost 90 degree stand up - not conducive for reading. A non-starter.

Very good quality for the price I got the two tone version so it stands out from the plain black. Had a funky smell to it when it arrived but it went away. Must have been the leather dyes. I have a friend that got the standard amazon "leather" cover and he came over and just stared at mine. That look said it all.
Will be ordering another version from M Edge. You wont be sorry.
